Data Centre Connections

The Contract
Working for a major Independent Connection Provider (ICP) on behalf of SSE, LPC were required to install 33kV and fibre comms connection to major data centre in Wiltshire. The contract value was £2m over a duration 1 year.

The Assignment
LPC provided triple circuit 33kV cable installation across agricultural, MOD and archaeologically significant land. The work included:

• Installation of ducting and cabling
• HV and fibre cable jointing, testing and commissioning.

The Delivery
LPC worked closely with consultants, land agents and stakeholders to meet strict requirements in terms of farmland management, ecology and archaeological sensitivities. Through utilising trenchless technology, we successfully avoided any major disturbances.

The Result
LPC ensured sensitive, service driven delivery to meet all stakeholders’ expectations. Seasonal and customer deadlines were rigidly adhered to. As the works encompassed an SSSI heritage area, the views, comments and needs of land agents, land owners, tenant farmers, archaeologists, ecologists, and local businesses all required careful and sensitive consideration. LPC ensured that the works were completed with the minimum of environmental impact.
