Low Voltage Network Upgrades

The Contract
LPC were contracted by UK Power Networks, a major Distribution Network Operator (DNO), to work on Low Voltage (LV) 2-way and 4-way Link Box replacement in South London. The contract value was £10m over a duration of 5 years.

The Assignment
LPC’s responsibilities on this contract included:

• Survey, street works co-ordination, link box installation and commissioning
• Provision of project management and support services
• Providing excavation and reinstatement teams, network authorised joiners and SAP.

The Delivery
Working over a 5-year period, LPC successfully replaced over 10,000 LV 2-way and 4-way link boxes across South London.

The Result
LPC delivered a seamless, co-ordinated, turn-key programme using a professional and dedicated project team. We were able to complete works safely and quickly with minimal disruption across a busy, metropolitan region direct for the DNO. Works were planned to ensure that each site was completed on a maximum 5-day turnaround. This minimised disruption and inconvenience to customers, and by working closely with the DNO, we also ensured that switch-outs caused minimum disruption to the network.
